Hello readers! Today I have a really special treat for you! Not too long ago I bought a few patterns from Patterns from the Past that were really special. Michelle, the knowledgeable proprietress has an amazing collection of 1920's and later patterns available. It is in fact, the best selection I've ever seen in all of my pattern shopping years.
I mentioned to Michelle that I would love to blog about her patterns and then in the massive shuffle that is family visiting, food poisoning and various other disasters, blog features got put on the back burner to simmer. Michelle recently contacted me though with a great idea. A Giveaway!

Patterns from the Past has just under 5,000 patterns available from early turn of the century to modern times. Michelle has an excellent reputation amongst sewing enthusiasts. She has been selling patterns online for 18 years and in that time has sold patterns that have been used in productions like Mad Men, American Horror Story, and the New York Ballet.
A great deal of her love for vintage fashion stems from her love of the old Oz books by L. Frank Baum. We have this in common, both of us were completely enchanted by the combination of Art Nouveau and ragtime illustrated fashions. These books and the wonderful art in them are still among my most treasured possessions today and it's wonderful to have something so unique in common with a fellow vintage pattern enthusiast!
Michelle has taken her love of vintage fashions and created a wonderful website, full to bursting with vintage and new patterns for every kind of fashion lover.

Patterns from the Past is now officially "liked" by me, Carey Cherivtch. I think I could get lost browsing her collection for days.
There is no way to pick just one! I love her selection of 1920s patterns especially the coat pattern McCall 5903.

It was a toss-up between McCall 7650 dress and Woman's Day 5048 "SMART TOGS FOR ACTION". But now that I think about it, it seems that "Togs for action" imply work of some sort ... so, I guess we'll have to go with the McCall's 7650 party dress!

Wow, I had to stop looking. The more I looked the more I found, of course. And I can't decide, for work I would want McCalls 9602 but for dress-up Simplicity 2276. That site could be a total time suck, but in a good way. ;)

Wow - there are so many to love...either the Hollywood 538 or the McCall 6302, both from the 1930's. I can't choose! :)

Oh wow! I really love the pattern Simplicity 1685 from the 1950's. It's a beautiful dress with buttons all down the side front with a sweetheart neckline and two sleeve lengths. Thank you! :) Kathy from Arizona
So many lovely patterns...not enough time in my study break to pick one. I think my favorite is 4584 from the 50's. I think. There's so many pretties!
Probably not my favorite because I like so many of them but a pattern I have had pn my want list for quiet some time now is Simplicity 2123 B.

McCall 7804 would make a nice addition to my 1940's patterns. I don't have a slacks pattern yet and having pants now that it's getting really cold would be great.
Okay this is not fair Christmas is not here yet, so I am supposed to wait for Santa. My list is very long but I would have to pu Originator 331 at the top, it would make a beautiful suit for when I graduate with my Dr.

I'm liking Simplicity 1381 - simple and clean lines. Plus, I do have an attraction to Simplicity patterns - it's the brand my grandmother used and introduced me to!

My favorite is this one http://www.oldpatterns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=104_65_164_230&products_id=6862&zenid=4aa6ae17a62bae613feb82f77c647d42 It looks almost exactly like an advance pattern that went for around $80 before I could get it, but if anything I like this one better. I'm so glad you pointed all of us in the direction of this store. I'll definitely be shopping there soon.

What a fabulous giveaway! There are a plethora of fantastic patterns to choose from, and I think Butterick 8558 is stunning, but McCalls 4013 is pretty wonderful as well . . . too many choices!
I love vintage dress patterns. The one that caught my eye today is Vogue 6830.
