I first found Mollie Makes in Norway. It was a monthly tradition of mine to drive into town for an afternoon, pay too much for parking, treat myself to lunch, shopping, and my monthly editions of Burda Style and Mollie Makes.
There are no proper bookstores or newsstands in my area (something that hurts even more than the painful lack of nearby fabric shops) so when Mollie Makes announced a U.S. edition subscription, I had to pounce!
And, boy, is this sweet little monthly mag worth the $7.99. It's BEAUTIFUL!

Along with tutorials for the adorable felt pine cone ornaments pictured above, the issue features knitting patterns for socks and breakfast themed scarves, patterns for a laptop bag, pin cushions and an adorable stuffed mouse, craft book reviews, a feature on Crafty attractions and shops in Portland, a fascinating article on the art of making bobbin lace, and a bunch more!

Happy sewing!
I'd love to see a copy of this magazine! My favorite sewing magazine other then the obvious ones is My Image. They have very wearable everyday women's garment patterns, Their styling and fabric choices in the layouts aren't quite my cup of tea, but the patterns have loads of potential! I've sewn the most from them outside of Burda.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'm always curious about this magazine, but I Have yet to pick one up. I'd love to win one :) MY favorite magazine is probably Knit Scene - I always love most everything in the issue instead of just a few like the other magazines. Thanks so much for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHmm, hard choice because I've never gotten to use Burda and some others people mention. I think I like Vogue Knits or the Japanese Cotton Friend. Vogue seems to have classic knitting patterns and Cotton Friend has lots of useable patterns. Thanks for the recommendation and chance to win Mollie Makes!
ReplyDeleteA Needle Pulling Thread because it is packed with all forms of creativity!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite maker magazines are Threads, Interweave Knits & Taproot!
ReplyDeleteI really like Threads. We get a copy at the fabric store I work at and it always has a lot of great tips, and some really neat tutorials. :) Thanks for hosting the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to get a copy of this magazine! Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I love the special editions of SewStylish. I can make something for everyone on my holiday/special event lists. Speaking of which, I better get cracking!!! Please toss my name into the hat.
ReplyDeletePieceWork is just a gem of a magazine, full of historical knitted, crocheted, tatted, embroidered, you-name-it small pieces of hand work. And I would truly love to get the November edition of Mollie Makes (such charming and inspired crafts!) because when I clicked your link to subscribe - so sad! I was informed that they are no longer selling subscriptions, because the US December issue will be the last one! So one can only subscribe to the UK version. Ouch!$ Even with their lure of 3 months for $10, after that it is serious dollars to subscribe. But what delightful items to tempt us with! Thanks for tipping us off to such a wonderful magazine. :)
